Cycle: Day 9

Trigger: Reviewing CELPIP – Speaking

The Framework Was There All Along

[reflective thought]: did you know? all along I didn’t know I’ve been adapting thinking in frameworks. Especially speaking. I’ve dreaded speaking because I mumbled, can’t get clear thoughts, and all.

[personal history thought]: I even joined Toastmasters Club for a few months because I want to know how to speak better. I know there is a structure to follow, and all along I didn’t know they were frameworks. It seems like my brain was clouded.

Not until I’m here reviewing CELPIP Speaking. yet I was still at the same dilemma. And viola! Thank goodness this YouTube algorithm recommend “How To Think Fast Before You Speak: Framework Thinking.”

[grateful thought]: Gosh, she’s a godsend! Now it’s giving me the best anchor to understand finally how my mind works!

[self-revelation thought]: Isn’t that amazing? I really thought we’re just too slow .. I mean I’m too slow like hard-headed thoughts just won’t easily cracked.

[memory thought]: I’m aware of Shane Parrish‘ site about mental models yearssss ago, but got dementia, or forgot about that it is FRAMEWORKS. I think I came across it 10 years ago.. I just couldn’t remember

[verifying thought]: searches Shane’s site.. Yes, it’s called Farnam Street fs.blog

[connecting thought]: the power of one simple, familiar word that it connects and made it all sense. And of course, the power of the dire situation that forces you to make a way.

[humble thought]: but it’s also about being LUCKY to find that resources, possibly at the right time.

[humble thought]: but yet again, you were viewing Vicky Zhao’s YT two years ago when you were trying out Obsidian method, in trying to connect your thoughts.

[looping thought]: Hmmm two years ago… hmmm.. what comes around …

[incomplete retrieval thought]: ah, forgot the right quote on that… something about boomerang concept. what you touched before, it seems in a way reaches you back. But not all or some. But seldom unless there’s something to connect.

[anchor thought]: yeah, connections… hmmm

[redirecting thought]: I think that’s it for now. My mind is being distracted. I’m supposed to review, get familiar to the frameworks I’ll use for the speaking test. And now I’m interested in buying in Amazon The Great Mental Models.. and then, I need to exercise at the gym this morning.

[competing interest thought]: ah… you know you also want to get updates the happenings in US and global politics. The effects of Trump’s Tariff’s. Oh boy.

[unexpected learning thought]: Never thought I would pay attention to Economics 101. Learning bit by bit because of this situation people are all in now. Wow. Stock market’s down in -2000+. I don’t even know what that means but something to learn about.

[self-command thought]: time to prepare please. review.

[closing visual thought]: image of hands washing off like it’s done
