[initiating thought]: let’s talk about applying for Permanent Resident. The steps needed. And the concept or mental model of BOTH/AND THINKING.

[actions]: looked up at the book in the shelves and searched Google for the link for remembering

[reference thought]: A book you’ve read last year byn SMITH AND LEWIS. There is no other way to get resolve these tensions..

[reminder thought]: ah yes, it’s “embracing the tensions”

[persistent thought]: plaguing you for days now

[observant thought]: You’re mom is reminding you again and again, i bet each day. so i noticed.

[questioning thought]: Isn’t that irritating?

[analyzing thought]: You can’t make up your mind yet.

[facilitating thought]: so let’s talk about it

[body and head]: tensed

[noticing thought]: seemed a thought or some thoughts wants to close this discussion. seal off but Maan Gail is feeling disturbed and has high urge to settle this today

[organizing thought]: so let’s settle then. we might need to refer the book some time to get the authors’ perspective on this. give clarifications on this dilemma. we talk about this yesterday already.

[anticipating thought]: this is going to be a long talk.

[optimistic thought]: i hope not. this should be easy to understand. to settle. if we refer to the book, the title itself is the answer. why complicate things? it’s not that bad at all. two birds hitting the same one goal.

[strategy thought]: take IELTS, review for a month. and reconsider taking an online course CELPIP. we may never know where this leads to. you have ample time until Spring. Less cleaning work. Make the most of it. Summer comes and you’re physically exhausted. Use this time, this season to plan, maybe make an additional income for you to bring home.

[checking thought]: is it a good idea for you? what else do we need to settle? what else do you need?

[inviting thought]: fear needs to talk to you. talk us now. also uncertainty thought must weigh in. this is a big decision for Maan. she can’t do this alone.

[resource thought]: remember you also read the book, THE UPSIDE OF UNCERTAINTY? Learn from these people. re-read it again. we’ll walk you thought.

[coaching thought]: there are two obvious answers already for you. use a mental model of BOTH/AND and don’t be scared with uncertainty. I know you’re scared. That’s why you’re doing this all or nothing approach. it’s not helping us, you at this moment. embrace it. embrace the discomfort.

[encouraging thought]: so, whatcha say? hmm? it’s all good, right?

[reassuring thought]: you’re going home soon. this is called preparation. preparation for uncertainty. preparing isn’t bad mindset. it’s something you gotta do what you gotta do. it’s chaos all around us. don’t settle for comfort for now.

[emphatic thought]: i know you’ve been too exhausted for 2 years with KNB, work, family, navigating foreign ‘systems’ and norms you can’t yet grasp and until now you’re still adjusting and confused. we all are. but we’re here for you in this journey.

[supporting thought]: you’re not alone. just talk to us. that’s all you need to do.

[perceptive thought]: i’m sensing you’re still not fully onboard. your body is still a little tense but i know miss acceptance thought is cracking in and shedding some light. i hope she does for this sake, your sake.

[suggesting thought]: think it through while you’re doing your cleaning work this morning.

[understanding thought]: well, i know she still has some issues beneath this that’s why it’s not an easy and simple approach to her. it is easy or reasonable for others to take this path.

[observing thought]: but she’s still fighting it.

[insight thought]: she still has unresolved traumas i guess.

[protective thought]: now now, it’s too much for her to bear at this moment. she’s going for increased headache and she’s not feeling well, having flu, i guess.

[concluding thought]: let’s talk some other time for that unresolved issues. but for now, there’s a way out, a hope. use BOTH/AND thinking. this is the best time to play with uncertainty.

[rallying thought]: play with it. you can do it. we’re here. okay?

[conscious]: i think so

[affirming thought]: it’s a good answer for now. we’re getting there.

[noticing thought]: some thought feel excited
